On a sunny day in 2023, the Eagles Cricket Club held its annual meeting. Elankeeran Raveendran, the president of the ECC, opened the meeting at 4.00 pm at Schöneggstrasse 16 in Wädenswil with a warm welcome.
The founding members present were Elankeeran Raveendran, Sarujan Kumarakulasingam, Banujan Kumarakulasingam, Kavitharan Muhunthan, Krishnakanth Stalin, Kanagan Vincent Robert & Gushalavan Santhirasekaram. Together they had some important decisions to make.
Firstly, the agenda of the meeting was adopted unanimously. No further items were added.
This was followed by the financial report for the year 2022, which was presented by Kavitharan Muhunthan, the club's treasurer. He explained the club's financial development and what to expect in the coming year. The members voted unanimously in favour of accepting the financial report.
Yalini Raveendran, the club's auditor, presented a report. She confirmed that all financial records were in order and everything had been accounted for. There were no issues to report.
The next item on the agenda was the election of board members. A new position, Marketing & Promotions Manager, was introduced and Banujan Kumarakulasingam was elected. The other board positions remained unchanged and will be up for re-election in 2024.
Yalini Raveendran was elected as the club's auditor.
The club has decided to increase the monthly membership fee from CHF 15 to CHF 40. The reason? The club needed money for training materials, equipment, nets and to join two cricket leagues. The members voted in favour of the increase.
Finally, some changes were made to the club's statutes. The club's registered office was changed to "the city of Baden" and a new board position, that of Marketing & Promotions Manager, was added.
The club also discussed finding a suitable pitch, requiring all members to complete an ICC Stage-01 Umpiring course, setting up a new WhatsApp group with the President as administrator and creating a 'to-buy list' which included things like a first aid kit, bowling machine, net for training and cricket balls.
Ultimately, the Eagles Cricket Club meeting was a success, with important decisions being made together to ensure the club's growth and success in the future.
